ANSYS ICEM CFD provides sophisticated geometry acquisition, mesh generation, post-processing & mesh optimization tools. It is the only universal pre-processor for analysis including FEA, CFD & other CAE applications such as particle transport & computational electromagnetics.

Applications

Used for engineering applications such as computational fluid dynamics & structural analysis. Mesh generation tools offer the capability to parametrically create grids from geometry in multi-block structured, unstructured hexahedral, tetrahedral, hybrid grids consisting of hexahedral, tetrahedral, pyramidal & prismatic cells; and Cartesian grid formats combined with boundary conditions.


CAD Integration

Direct parametric interfaces for CATIA, Pro/ENGINEER, UG, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, I-DEAS, ICEM Surf/DDN & CADDS5. Third-party formats ACIS, CAPRI, DWG, DXF, IDI, IGES, STEP, STL, VRML also supported. Boundary conditions & grid size specifications applied in CAD are carried all the way through to the solver. 100 flow solver & structural analysis translators provided for export to third party CAE analysis tools.
