 Optimised FEA software with automatic remeshing capabilities is commonly used to predict sheet metal forming problems, such as tearing, wrinkling and insufficent stretch, in a wide range of drawing, spinning and blanking operations. This software can also assist the design and validation of riveted jointing systems. A co-authored paper reviews applications of sheet metal forming simulation including software selection criteria.
