and Thursday 07 July 2005
This course covers the important Concrete Modelling and Analysis features in DIANA. This would be a 2-day Introduction to using DIANA for concrete analysis.
Who is it for? The course is recommended for engineers who would like to learn more about modelling concrete in DIANA. The course would not require prior knowledge of the software.
Course Topics: - Pre- and Post-Processing in iDIANA - Modelling rebars; modelling grids; concept of embedded rebars and grids - Smeared cracking versus discrete cracking approaches; lattice models - Cracking, tension softening, shear retention - Compressive failure and combining compressive failure with tensile failure. - Reinforced concrete: tension stiffening, yielding, hardening - Tendons: post-tensioned, bond and nobond options - Output: visualising cracks
Course Format This course will be a mixture of lectures and hands-on computer tutorials.
