Wilde FEA are presenting the Altair Forging simulation pre-processing solution for bulk metalforming, enabling the easy generation of models within the Altair HyperWorks software suite for analysis by the DEFORM solver. By coupling the leading forming, machining and heat treatment simulation technologies within DEFORM with the model manipulation tools within Hyperworks, users can rapidly make modifications to geometry and meshes. This facilitates the undertaking of optimisation studies to understand manufacturing processes in more detail and improve die design.
