 | NEW Plaxis Training Courses With Support From Coffey Geotechnics
Wednesday 12 November 2008 - Stockport
Wilde FEA announce new geotechnical training courses with support from Coffey Geotechnics.
Plaxis 2D for Geotechnical Engineers - 1 day This course covers an introduction to use of the finite element method (FEM) for geotechnical structures. The course is a balanced mixture of lectures and practical hands-on computer analyses using the PLAXIS software for soil and rock mechanics. Both lectures and exercises will concentrate on basic hands-on use of PLAXIS software based on version V8.6.
Subject Matter The course will concentrate dealing with complex soil conditions, analysing realistic projects with different stages of construction and excavation, obtaining basic input data and interpreting results using Mohr Coulomb, non-linear, drained and undrained analysis.
Pre-requisite Matter No pre-requisite is necessary but attendees should have basic soil mechanics knowledge.
Who Should Attend? The course is aimed at practising geotechnical and civil engineers who wish to learn more about the use of Plaxis software tool as applied to geotechnics. The course material will be relevant to both current and potential users of finite element software and associated consultancy services. The course is also intended as refresher to past users.
Course Dates 12th November 14th January 2009
