 | Introduction to Design for Reliability (DFR) Training Course - Presented by ReliaSoft
Monday 28 September 2009 - Manchester
Course Overview
RS 560 provides an overview of the entire set of methods and tools that support Design for Reliability (DFR) initiatives from the initial concept through to production. Topics include reliability goals, identifying critical items, quantifying and improving reliability and monitoring performance in the field.
The course will facilitate a basic understanding of the methods, terms and metrics used in reliability, when to apply particular tools during the product development life cycle and the associated benefits and drawbacks of each:
For managers, this overview can contribute to your efforts to build an effective reliability culture within the organisation and help to determine what needs to be added or improved in your DFR initiative.
For practitioners, this course can help you to evaluate your strengths in each methodology, which will serve as a guide for any additional skills you may need to acquire or augment.
Course Lecturer
Pantelis Vassiliou is the Chief Executive Officer of the ReliaSoft Corporation and is the course lecturer on the UK's Fundamentals of Design for Reliability (DFR) course. Vassiliou is a renowned expert and lecturer on Reliability Engineering and consults, trains and lectures on reliability engineering topics to Fortune 1000 companies worldwide. To enable him to keeps his "finger on the button" Mr. Vassiliou sets aside a part of his schedule to teach personally selected courses and to participate in selected consulting projects, enabling him to share his experience and insight across different industries.
Pantelis Vassiliou founded ReliaSoft in 1992 while in the Ph.D. program in Reliability Engineering at the University of Arizona, US. Over the past two decades, he has overseen the research and development of new tools, theories and approaches for advancing reliability methodologies, and has personally taught, lectured and / or acted as a consultant for thousands of reliability engineers and hundreds of companies in over forty countries. Even though fully occupied as the chief executive of a multinational corporation, Mr. Vassiliou holds a B.S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an M.S. degree in Reliability from the University of Arizona.
