 | Mike McCarthy From Wilde Presents At The Reliability Performance Data Analysis Seminar By IMechE
Thursday 11 June 2009 - TRW Conekt, Solihill
Wilde's Mike McCarthy is presenting at a one-day seminar, "Reliability Performance Data Analysis" - 11th June 2009, Solihull. Please see below for general details about this event and why not visit the "Wilde FEA News" section of our website for details of Mike's presentation.
Description Historically, due time was allowed for new technologies to become reliable. However, cost demands and legal considerations have now made this unacceptable. Expectations are unrelenting; engineers are now required to establish and deliver the 'expected reliability' of a product from the outset.
The necessary evidence to support real confidence in reliability often has to be established with only a limited amount of available data. Data by itself provides no guarantee of reliability, unless it is synchronised with sound engineering principles to provide a case for acceptability.
This one-day seminar will look closely at the issues surrounding reliability forecasting, demonstrating methods of analysis and assessment to establish valid expectations, as well as the auditable reasoning behind them.
Confirmed speakers include:
Mike McCarthy, Wilde FEA Ltd William Wong, Engineer, Author and Lecturer Daniel Doncaster, SKF (U.K.) Ltd Alan Roddis, AESSEAL plc David Mortimer, Reliability Engineer John Pearce, Atkins Ltd
Attending this event will help you:
*Better predict reliability *Make the best use of available test data including sparse data sets *Predict five years' repair and maintenance costs from one-year warranty data *Improve the reliability of rotating machinery *Select bearings for reliability, even in unstable loading regimes *Learn how to approach a quantified reliability requirement *Understand strengths and limitations of type testing and the use of mean time to fail *Learn how to develop reliable and effective products and demonstrate achievement *Recognise the need to consider life (failure) characteristics *Learn how to apply statistical approximations as developed for limited data sets *Appreciate the value of using Weibull Analysis and its practical application *Share real-life experience
If you would like further details, please speak to Mike McCarthy on 0161 474 7479 or email mccarthy@wildefea.co.uk. Alternatively to book your place visit the IMechE website www.imeche.org.
