 | NAFEMS UK Conference 2010 - Engineering Simulation: Contributing To Business Success
Tuesday 08 June 2010 - Oxford
Wilde is an official sponsor of the 'NAFEMS UK Conference' being held 8 - 9 June in Oxford. Wilde has 30 years experience of simulation technology using FEA and CFD and their Managing Director, David Deakin, is on the NAFEMS 'UK Steering Committee'. The UK simulations sector see this as a 'must not miss event' as it brings together industrial practitioners, consultancies, academic researchers and software developers with a common interest in engineering analysis. Wilde's Business Development Manager Neal Symms and Reliability Engineering Specialist, Mike MCarthy and will be presenting at the conference.
NAFEMS NAFEMS is the only worldwide independent association dedicated to computer modelling and simulation methods including FEA and CFD.
Conference Outline In today's uncertain economic climate, companies are continually looking towards the design and manufacturing process as a way of increasing efficiency and contributing to the bottom line. Recent research shows that best-in-class companies make the greatest use of simulation technology - an important consideration when competitiveness is vital in a turbulent marketplace.
Following NAFEM's outstanding success at their 2008 conference, the NAFEMS UK Conference 2010 will be the country's premier conference on Simulation Technology for the Engineering Analysis Community and is being sponsored by Simulia.
The two-day conference will cover the current best practices and state-of-the-art in FEA, CFD and associated technologies, providing attendees with the most comprehensive overview of the technology available. In addition to the informative main conference sessions, this time the conference will be further enhanced by activities hosted by a number of the NAFEMS Working Groups.
The conference aims to increase awareness and provide a discussion forum for topics that are important and relevant to engineering industrialists and academics. NAFEMS is acutely aware that the current economic climate places as even greater focus on the business benefit that simulation can bring to industry. In response to this, the conference will endeavour to highlight the economic issues associated with simulation.
Neal Symms presentation entitled 'The Effective Application of Plastic Simulation to Improve Product Performance and Reduce Manufacturing Costs' will take place at Track 2, Manufacturing Simulation in the afternoon on Tuesday 8th June.
Mike McCarthy's presentation entitled 'Reducing Product Development Risk with Reliability Engineering Methods' will take place at Track 2, Validation 3 (Further Applications) in the afternoon on Wednesday the 9th June.
Who Should Attend? The conference will be of interest to all analysts, engineers, team leaders and managers that have a responsibility for ensuring that a fit-for-purpose engineering solution is obtained from the use of modern simulation software. Those involved with the manufacturing and design process at any level will benefit from attendance.
The event is open to both members and non-members of NAFEMS.
Attendance is free for NAFEMS members, subject to sufficient remaining seminar credits.
