Official release & password for DEFORM-2D/F2 v9.1 - 10.01.2008

SFTC is pleased to announce the release of DEFORM-2D/F2 v9.1.

Overview of available interfaces

There are many new interfaces for the DEFORM system to handle specific manufacturing processes. A brief description of these interfaces is as follows:

1. DEFORM-2D: This is the standard interface that includes Main, Pre-processor and Post-processor.

2. DEFORM-F2: This is an open, hybrid interface to allow users to either follow an ordered list to create simulations or to skip through the settings. This interface is extremely streamlined to construct a large variety of simulations in a very brief time.

3. DEFORM-MO2: This interface allows users to construct many successive
operations during an initial setup session.

4. Heat-treatment interface: This interface allows users to construct successive heat treatment simulations with minimal effort.

5. Inverse heat transfer interface: Using this interface, users can determine the heat transfer coefficient at the boundary of an object by using actual thermocouple data coupled with iterative simulation results.

6. Optimization interface: This interface allows users to perform simulations to optimize either preform shape or strain distribution.

7. Machining interface: Users can set up and perform two-dimensional machining simulations, under orthogonal cutting conditions, using this interface.

8. Die stress analysis wizard: This wizard allows users to conveniently set up a die stress analysis from an existing deformation simulation.

9. Machining Distortion module: This module allows modeling of part deflection resulting from machining passes on a part with deformation history.

10. Microstructure module: This module allows computations on microstructural changes based on classical JMAK and Cellular Automata models.
