 | Wilde presented at NAFEMS Seminar 'Delivering CAE for the Nuclear Industry' - 01.03.2010
Mike McCarthy from Wilde recently presented at a NAFEMS seminar entitled "Delivering CAE for the Nuclear Energy Industry". The seminar, aimed at engineers and managers in the nuclear industry, was held on the 23rd February at Booths Hall in Knutsford and included presentations from industry experts.
Mike McCarthy's presentation entitled 'using Simulation to Manage Supply Chain Risk' discussed how to combine appropriate reliability tools and simulation methods to create insight and manage risk in supply chains. "The presentation went well. There were over 50 attendees from throughout the nuclear industry. Some of the topics discussed at the seminar included developing professional competence and the need for more widespread training in modern approaches throughout the industry to establish SQEP (Suitable Qualified Experienced Personal)" comments Mike McCarthy.
Dr. Jesus Talamantes - Siva, group research and development director at Sheffield Forgemasters, also presented at the seminar. His presentation was entitled 'Use of Forging Simulation for Nuclear Applications', which demonstrated their use of the DEFORM software, in their product development process. DEFORM simulation software, used by the manufacturing sector is provided by Wilde within the UK.
