 | FEA for Geotechnical Engineers - 3 days
This course covers the use of the finite element method (FEM) for stress and deformation analyses, consolidation and stability assessment of geotechnical structures. The course is a balanced mixture of lectures and practical hands-on computer analyses of realistic projects using the PLAXIS software for soil and rockmechanics. Both lectures and exercises will concentrate on advanced geotechnical engineering.
Subject Matter:
The course will concentrate on the following issues: dealing with complex soil conditions, analysing realistic projects with different stages of construction and excavation, obtaining basic input data and interpreting results.
Who Should Attend?
The course is aimed at practising geotechnical and civil engineers who wish to learn more about finite element analysis techniques as applied to geotechnics. The course material will be relevant to both current and potential users of finite element software and associated consultancy services.
