| Design for Six Sigma - 1 day
This seminar givies an overview of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) - aimed at engineers/decision makers.
This seminar will review the typical DFSS methodology and how new software tools are enabling this process.
Typically DFSS is based on analysis of variation. The goal being to determine and control the critical design factors that impact the characteristics of the final product.
Being able to characterise the component, environment and material property variations allows the designer the possibility of reducing manufacturing costs whilst maintaining the product performance specification demanded by the customer.
The seminar will use a simple case study based on a finite element model to illustrate the method.
